Soccer balls for School for Life in Uganda
School for Life Foundation in Uganda has gratefully accepted $500 for soccer balls for
their kids at Katuuso, Mpigi. The kids made a great sign saying “Thank you to the kids of Australia for the balls”. Mac’s idea of bringing people together through soccer balls is forging bonds between kids across the seas.
School for Life Foundation was founded by two Australian university students in 2008 at the age of 21. After spending considerable periods of time in Africa, and specifically Kenya and Uganda, Annabelle Chauncy and David Everett decided to make their own contribution. They were moved by the lack of access to education in rural areas of Uganda and the number of children falling through the cracks of the education system.
Annabelle and Dave raised over $500,000, developed a partnership with Rotary, assembled a Board of Directors and gained a strong sponsor base in Australia. In addition, they have worked closely with the Ugandan government, Ministry of Education, authorities and local people to ensure the smooth implementation of the project.
We are so happy to help this great initiative with $500 worth of soccer balls for the kids.
